Where to stay?

I fell in love with Hilton Craigendarroch, an intimate country house with 46 rooms and suites. It has facilities which include;

Ø  Tennis Court

Ø  Spa Facilities

Ø  Games Room (for children under age of 12)

Ø  Bike Hire

Guest Room

The hotel also offers a free shuttle service to the slopes of the Cairngorms Ski Resort or to a dining venue of your choice. After a hard day on the slopes, you can relax in the lagoon pool, sauna  and whirlpool bath or why not pamper yourself with a luxury treatment from the treatment spa. The rooms are fitted out with a perfectly modest kitted kitchen including a fridge, a microwave and a washing machine.  And if you don’t fancy doing the cooking yourself or fancy something different, you can flick through your in room magazine, which lists many of the Cairngorms restaurants and takeaway outlets.

When should I go?
There is always something happening in December in the Cairngorms. In the first week in December, the World Junior Ski Championship comes to the Cairngorms and that is when the slopes will be bustling with keen skiers and snowboarders. The second week will be perfect as the weather is at its coldest and will be perfect for skiing conditions.

Where can I ski?
The Cairngorms Mountains. This is a well known ski resort near the hotel. The season runs from late November to late January. It is very accessible by bus to the resort and there are 4 buses a day to the ski resort from the hotel.  It has 3 slopes. One for young children/beginners, one for beginner adults and snowboarders, and one for the experienced skiers and snowboarders.

Which celebs might I see?
Billy Connolly and Rod Stewart both own homes in the Cairngorms and are often seen in the shops around the area.

Where can I drink?
There is a pub called ‘The Hair’, which is very friendly and is 2 minutes walk from the hotel. It offers a range of wines and spirits which will tickle your taste buds, and entertainment on offer will ensure night doesn’t end quietly.

Where can I spa?
Staying at the Hilton Craigendarroch gives you exclusive access to hotel’ spa facilities. A session with Paddy Seagal, a local legend whos heating hands will magic away any post ski pains or aches.

Where can I shop?
Glasgow and Edinburgh are both shoppers paradises with every shop you need. For any of your skiing needs, there are Helly Hansen retailers in both cities. In Edinburgh, a new  North face retail store has opened and has just about every colour of anything you would want for skiing, exciting!

How do I get there?
Stevie Connon’s Luxury Travelling (0845 765 432) is offering weekend and 7-day packages including return flights with British Airways from Edinburgh Airport. Prices ranges from £1,200 per person based on four people sharing a double room.
